Bring Me the Horizon

“Bring me the horizon.”
The King once declared.
An open declaration,
half of what was said.
“Bring me the horizon or
don’t come back at all.”
Thousands traveled miles beyond counting
to bring the King his wish.
One, so determined, chased the horizon,
but never caught the elusive line
and yet still returned to the King
burdened with other precious value.
“I told you to bring me the horizon.”
“Sire, a man must decide
what he wants his horizon to look like
and where he wants it to end.”
